Good Morning To All From, India

Image
Early morning life is always enticing and never leaves you disappointed. My dad has always repeated himself to me thus “go early to bed and rise early”. I have never understood why he has to intervene, since early morning long hours of sleep has its own pleasure. It’s only during exams or when it is an early shift that I landed up waking before the sunrise. Its only when my first experience venturing on an outstation trip that I realized how beautiful the world around me is during the early mornings. Well! Again it’s better late than never ;) Early morning view from the terrace around 6:15am IST Pleasant is not the word that I have to describe the break of dawn; with birds chirping and the swift breeze of air on you. I had a discussion with my mom; a lengthy one on why early morning is treated as best for humans. Our discussion started right from how the mind is open in the early mornings to why there is a Suriya Namaskaram in the Hindu culture. Here is something I unders...

Terrace and Me

Image
After many many years I went to the terrace this morning. This place has known all my mood swings over close to two decades now. A place where I have sat peacefully during early mornings and during late nights; spent time to complete my assignments/homework of college and school. Terrace, a part of the flat I stay where all children of our ages spent the maximum hours of the evenings everyday to play. Today too the place looked just the same. Parrots chirping and flying around to the nearest trees. A view from the terrace, no change what so ever. Even today a cricket match in the neighboring ground. The only change i found is that there are less and less crows and more and more pigeons. Only a handful of independent houses left; and with multi-storied flats and corporates around our house, the view afar is completely cut off. I was wrapped up in the thoughts of the pleasant past. Life was slow then and there were never a husssh hussh, lets hurry kind of life. ...

Sleep Cricket… Dream Cricket…. Eat Cricket….. Breathe Cricket……………………

Image
Little do I know about cricket. But hey! Wait, here is my cousin who dreams, sleeps, talks, walks and breathes cricket. It is just not a dream but a dream come true. No dream is a success or achievement till there is hard work and dedication. Behind any success or achievement there is a whole lot of hard work, self-driven PASSION towards achieving the goal, BOOST and MOTIVATION at every moment. This is where the key role of parents and supporters come into picture. As for my cousin, his mom (Chitra), dad (Ravichandran) and grandpa (Narayanaswami) have, and are continuing to give their full support to him since his age eight to be a self-made and successful cricket player. Cousin R Ashwin and Indian Cricketer Dhoni just a pose after a practice session. When a child starts to walk, initially he will tumble and fumble and get injured. Initial days of practice Ashwin had a slight injury in the pelvic, as per doctor’s advice had taken a break for a year or two ...

2007, What is new about it?

Image
Where-ever I go, whom-ever I meet; the question that pops up is – “Hey! What are you doing for new year?” or “What’s plan for new years eve?” A decade ago New Year was welcome in all parts of the globe just as a New Year; start of a new series of days, weeks, months of a calendar. Today it is more of a celebration time at the arrival of a New Year. There is countdown and celebration for the arrival of New Year with dance, music, eat-out … masti. The general tendency is to take up resolutions on a New Year. There are many of us who do not disclose our resolutions with others – “Aren’t resolutions made to be broken?” Resolutions are made to mould ones character to the better by reflecting about himself/herself. I still wonder why this linked to New Year, or better still why wait till New Year. Now, let us stop for a few seconds from our fast running life and give some thought to this. Let not 1 st Jan be any other day of just a wish away, a resolution day….a new cal...
