Faith in the Divine

As a child I remember that prayers were to be recited in verses, hymns; sung in a joyous tune. As years passed by, there were more important things that children were asked to concentrate on – competitive studies to become a highly qualified literate.

What are we praying for today? I’ve seen different people praying differently; chanting, singing, meditating, but for an end result, with a motive. It used to be mostly for – I need this… or I wish for that… Very few people pray for others, selfless in nature. Well! Even mothers are selfish; they would concentrate their prayers towards the betterment of their family and children.

I have seen one thing common in these people who believe completely on the Miraculously Divine Power. They pray, pray, and pray for the betterment and personal needs of others and souls around them. They would be able to get visions, voices or even messages via a medium (print or human) of both good and evil that could bring joy or disheartenment; with little or no time for prayers to oneself. Out of the many who seek them for prayers for their own benefit, there are few genuine souls who would keep them in their own small way of good wishes.

Here is one such person, who I have heard all this morning on how her birthday was spent. Family pampering, well wishers and friends calling in across the oceans and giving a warm feeling. I could not imagine taking 70+ calls the entire morning; it gives me a call center feeing. The only difference is that people at work place call for trouble solutions, and here its calling in for wishing. At the end of the day we are all humans, prone to go through all types of sentiments and feelings. And so it’s nice to feel awesome and nostalgic. When we wish good for others it is returned in thousand folds in the most unexpected time of life.
